Someone who could solve a Rubik’s Cube in seconds once told me to start with a white cross on the bottom so that’s what I did! Not too difficult to be honest and I was feeling smug! Next, I had to drop the corners in and somehow I knew the algorithm for this. Holding the white cross down, position the desired white corner above its place. Turn the right side up, spin the top anti-clockwise, turn the right side down and spin the top clockwise. Repeat until the corner is correct.
This was going well; I had the white side all present and correct in a matter of minutes.
Now for the middle and top layer. This was where my knowledge ran dry. I was at a loss. I knew an algorithm was needed to move pieces around without upsetting all my good work so I resorted to the internet. A website called cubesolve.com proved most efficient in that there were diagrams along with written instructions.
What can I say, I followed them and succeeded! This, however, left me feeling like a fraud but goal accomplished- just don’t ask me how I did the next steps because it went so well that I didn’t keep track of it.
