TV isn’t really my thing but I do like a panel show or a quiz show. Mostly, I just wanted to see how it all worked and sit in a studio. The quickest way to get tickets for free TV shows is applausestore.com so I created an account and waited and waited until something came up that I fancied.
With time ticking, I applied for two tickets to Limitless Win, hosted by the uberfamous Ant and Dec and quickly received an email telling me that tickets were scarce and that I’d hear no later than three days before the show. Remarkably, within the hour I had the tickets in an email. I was chuffed!
The following Wednesday, Mark finished work and hour early, picked me up from work and we hightailed it down the A1 to BBC Borehamwood Studios.
Security was minimal as we’d travelled light but our phones were checked in for us to collect afterwards so sadly we have no photos of our time. However, I’m fairly sure there will be plenty of TV evidence as a cross was put on our hand while we waited and this meant we were in the front row, right behind the contestants!
Ant and Dec were fabulous and the minimal retakes were down to ‘Spidercam’ needing WD40 or someone not pressing record.
In fact, when not recording they were even better, so personable and genuine that it’s not hard to see why they’re the national treasures that they are.
As icing on the cake, the compere who kept the crowd entertained while Ant and Dec were off set picked Mark to be a team captain in the games he hosted. It was great fun and our side even won.
